Our client, a national Legal 500 law firm, with offices in 7 major UK cities, are looking for a Head of Child Care to join a very successful family department, managing the Nottingham team. The practice is a well-known, well-respected firm, due to the quality of work they produce and the growth they have experienced over the last decade. Their specialisms span Family Law, Property, Immigration and Criminal Law - plus a further comprehensive service provision within Commercial Law.

**Role Summary**

As the Head of Family Law Department, you will manage a team of solicitors, executives and paralegals, overseeing a range of child care matters including care proceedings, special guardianship, adoption and child arrangement orders.

The firm works with both private and legal aid concerns, making the role incredibly varied for a Solicitor who can manage a range of matters within Child Care.

**Core responsibilities**
- Providing expert legal advice to clients, maintaining exemplary relationships.
- Managing, developing and training all team members.
- Implementation and monitoring of departmental goals, employee goals, initiatives, and growth strategies, together with assessing levels of client care.
- Managing complex cases
- An active participant in the management and leadership team
- Maintaining a fresh and updated sense of knowledge and technical expertise within the field, including regulations and best practices.

**Requirements**:
Ideally the firm are looking for a minimum of 5 years PQE, together with proven leadership qualities, plus:

- Excellent communication and client management skills
- Exceptional understanding of family law regulations, procedures, and case law
- Able to work well in a hybrid environment and flexible work structure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £70,000.00 per year
