Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will provide timely commercial insight to support and challenge all financial matters to optimise the financial performance of Westland’s products and categories.

In this new role you will work closely with people across all group divisions within Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT and Supply Chain and it is therefore critical for the success of this role that you possess an ability to cultivate strong relationships withstakeholders.

**Location: 3 days (Alconbury Hill office), 2 days (working from home) - to be discussed.**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide detailed analysis and rigorous financial assessment and reporting of revenue, costs and margins across all divisions, sales categories, products, channel and for significant customer accounts, to support sustainable profitable growth.
- Provide detailed analysis of product costs and keep up to date with any changes to site and logístical costs to recognise where price increases may be required.
- Support and challenge the sales team with pricing decisions on significant accounts on a daily basis.
- Support and challenge the marketing team in costings and pricing of product innovations and promotional activity, using financial modelling to increase sales and drive the bottom line.
- Provide post implementation analysis of New Product Development and promotional activity in order to guide future decision making.
- Support the marketing team in planning and management of divisional and category price lists for the Independent Garden Centre sales teams. Support the Head of Commercial Finance in automation of Garden Centre price lists, including establishing and developingsupporting processes.
- Provide commercial finance support for various IT projects as Westland embarks upon a significant digital transformation over the next few years (Power BI reporting tool, automation of price lists and new customer ordering website).
- Support the Head of Commercial Finance on development of the annual sales budget, by division, channel, category and product.
- Support the Head of Commercial Finance in developing Sales team targets and tracking against performance throughout the season.
- Several years commercial accountancy experience, preferably in a brand driven FMCG environment
- Must be a highly driven individual, able to adapt to changing demands. Thrives in a fast paced and varied working environment
- Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills
- Commercially minded, with analytical ability to translate numbers into operational reality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to negotiate and influence internally and manage difficult conversations

**Qualifications**:

- Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), can be part qualified and support for remaining exams provided.
- Degree level educated.
- Current Driving Licence and the availability and willingness to travel to other Westland sites and sales meetings.
