Here at Merton College, we are looking for a Pastoral Tutor to be responsible for tracking and monitoring the progress of a specific amount of Further Education learners. This will include conducting 1-2-1 meetings with learners, delivering the college grouptutorial programme, liaising with members of staff and parents/guardians regarding learner progress and signposting learners to wider support as and when needed.

You will also be a member of the college Safeguarding team which will include supporting a caseload of students.

Our Pastoral Tutors need to be highly organised, adaptable, self-motivated and have exceptional communication skills. You’ll have experience of working with young people in an educational environment and have a strong desire to see students succeed. You’llhave a clear understanding of the needs of students and how these may be met and demonstrate a strong desire to work collaboratively as part of a high performing team. Your experience will include delivering student workshops or tutorials to a wide range ofstudents and mean you can demonstrate knowledge of Safeguarding practices, data protection regulations and referral procedures in relation to student information.
