We are actively seeking a Yard Operative to become a valuable member of our team in Exeter. In this role, you will play a crucial part in upkeeping the operational yards at both our Greendale and Yelland depots. Your responsibilities will include the efficient management of plant, equipment, and material resources, ensuring compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environment regulations.

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Perform daily maintenance tasks for operational yards at Greendale and Yelland.
- Manage stock levels to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Issue personal protective equipment (PPE), materials, plant, and equipment as needed.
- Assist in loading and unloading company vehicles.
- Drive company vehicles for ad hoc and small deliveries.
- Collaborate with colleagues as necessary to accomplish tasks.
- Pursue job-related training and development opportunities as required.
- Provide general and specific business support as needed.
- Uphold high standards of Health & Safety, promptly reporting any incidents, accidents, or near misses to the line manager.
- Fulfill general housekeeping duties as directed by the line manager.
- Utilise expertise to identify and assess potential health, safety, and environmental risks.

**What we're looking for in our Yard Operative**:

- Possession of a valid full driving license.
- While desirable, a CSCS card is not mandatory.
- While desirable, a Manual Handling qualification is not mandatory; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Strong team player with the ability to also work independently when required.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
- The standard work schedule entails 45 hours per week.
