**Main Purpose of the Job**:
To provide a cleaning service for the nursery. Duties will include working in different types of rooms including offices, classrooms and toilets and to maintain a high standard of cleaning. Full induction and support will be given. You will be working under the cleaning supervisor, and be expected to be able to work alone when the supervisor is away on sickness or leave.

**Quick Terms and Conditions**
- £10.50 per hour
- 5:30 - 7:30 pm Monday to Friday (10 hours per week)
- 28 days paid holiday per year
- The nursery is open all year round except for bank holidays and the

Christmas closure.

**Main Duties & Professional Responsibilities**:

- Spot cleaning of spillages
- Buffing school hall
- Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass
- Emptying and cleaning bins (inside and outside)
- Cleaning toilets and surroundings
- Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces
- Wiping, polishing and straightening furniture
- Scrubbing down furniture
- Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets etc.
- Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work
- To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of nursery related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information
- To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required
- All defects/hazards must be immediately reported to the supervisor or nursery manager
- To cover for the supervisor if absent or on holiday - to be key holder and lock up the building
- You may be asked to cover on another site if required

- Have the ability to work independently
- Have a friendly and approachable manner
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with other staff
- Are reliable and punctual
- Are physically fit
- Are able to take care and pride in all tasks given
- Have a willingness to be flexible and undertake other tasks associated with the post
- It is also desirable (but not essential) that you
- Have experience cleaning in a nursery/school
- Have a knowledge of safe working practices and health and safety procedures
- Have experience of using a wide variety of cleaning equipment and materials

Applicants will be required to complete a medical questionnaire and an enhanced Police check will be carried out through the DBS. We will seek two references, normally prior to the interview.
