**FULL TIME ADMINISTRATOR: JOB DESCRIPTION** Somerton Town Council are seeking to appoint a full time Administrator to work as part of the Town Clerk’s team. The position covers all aspects of administrative support for the Town Clerk’s team and the Councillors, to include responsibility for the management of bookings for the Edgar Hall via our online booking system ensuring that all aspects of bookings are delivered eg provision of projector, sound system etc as well as being the first point of contact for the public contacting the Town Council. Job Grade: Competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience Contracted Hours: 37 hours per week Contracted Days: Monday - Friday inclusive with occasional evening work Contract Type: Full time - permanent Responsible to: The Town Clerk Based at: Edgar Hall, Somerton **Key Functions**: - The postholder will provide administrative support to the Town Clerk team and to the Councillors, reporting to the Town Clerk. - A key part of the role is responsibility for the management of Edgar Hall bookings and associated administration using our online booking service. - Some support for Town Council committee meetings (usually held in the evenings) will also be required. **Main duties and responsibilities** - To take responsibility for the management of Edgar Hall bookings and associated administration. - To provide the Town Clerk’s team and the Councillors with administrative support. - To be the first point of contact for members of the public contacting the Town Council for information and advice. - To provide administrative support to Town Council committee work as may be required (to include evening meetings) - To adhere to the Council’s adopted Policies and Procedures and to undertake statutory and developmental training, maintaining ongoing CPD. - Any other duties as required and commensurate with the role. **PERSON SPECIFICATION** **ADMINISTRATOR** **Essential Desirable** **Qualifications** Educated to A level or equivalent **Work Experience** Strong experience of Administration experience of administrative work meetings, compilation of Minutes Experience of working in a public facing role Experience of working to deadlines in a dynamic environment **Skills & Knowledge** ICT Literate and competent user of MS Office software and other systems and databases Strong communication skills: face to face, written, social media and website Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy Knowledge of GDPR Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team with a "can do" attitude and flexible approach to meet the varied demands of the role Self-motivated, able to prioritise workload and able to problem solve **Other** Committed to continuous development within the sector Ability to work flexibly, including attending evening meetings and weekend events **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £25,979.00-£27,334.00 per year **Benefits**: - Company pension - Free parking - On-site parking - Sick pay Schedule: - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - Please provide a Cover Letter detailing how your skills and experience align with the role we have advertised. **Education**: - A-Level or equivalent (preferred) **Experience**: - Customer service: 1 year (preferred) - Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred) **Language**: - English (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Driving Licence (preferred) Work Location: In person Reference ID: Administrator - Full time
