**Main Duties**:

- Maintain customer vehicles, trailers, and equipment to Ministry of Transport standards (DVSA), whilst observing service level agreements, Company and manufacturers policies.
- By ensuring quality maintenance standards, minimise the time lost due to breakdowns and non - scheduled repairs.
- Keep customer downtime to an absolute minimum by ensuring each job is efficiently and effectively managed and where possible achieve standard working times.
- Maintain external client vehicles & trailers to the highest of standards & manufacturers guidelines and ensure customer expectations are delivered and exceeded.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained accurately and up to date by using designated paperwork/IT systems.
- In situations where vehicle and accident abuse are determined, consult with the Foreman/Service Manager ensuring awareness of such costs and advise on causal factors. Identify to the benefit of the business any product concerns or cost savings.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained & used in a safe working condition. Liaise with the Foreman/Service Manager where necessary.
- Ensure all environmental and C.O.S.H.H Health & Safety requirements are being observed in compliance with the H & S at work regulations act. Liaise with the General Manager and H & S officer where necessary.
- Ensure that when dealing with the customer directly that you talk positively about the services being provided and that the customer receives a good experience

**Experience**:

- HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent
- Class 2 license preferred
- Diagnostic skills on chassis and body
- Knowledge of electrics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Experience of working in a similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry
- An understanding of excellent customer service in addition to a flexible approach
- Able to work on own initiative
- Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be an advantage
- Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices

**Skills**:

- Fully qualified technician
- Working on multiple manufacturers vehicles & trailers
- Diagnostic technical ability
- Working in hazardous environment
