The Role
In this role, you will support the local generation and adaptation of data, evidence and key HEOR deliverables for Moderna products supporting pricing and reimbursement, vaccine recommendations, tender and contracting and institutional customer engagement in the UK and Ireland.
The role executes the local HEOR evidence and data generation and adaptation and provides strategic direction and ensures quality for external research professionals supporting modelling, evidence generation and syntheses to address successful value assessments, vaccine recommendations and price negotiations in UK and Ireland. The Associate Director HEOR will optimize the execution of evidence generation and communication plans and will offer tailored evidence partnerships as solutions to stakeholders. They will work on launch vaccines and pipeline products in close collaboration with Market Access and Pricing, Marketing, Clinical Development and Medical colleagues. This position will have a dual reporting line to the ED of Global HEOR Infectious disease and the Market Access and Policy Affairs Director for UK and Ireland.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Development, adaptation, and execution of local HEOR strategy, research studies, data and evidence and key deliverables (e.g., Value Dossier) to demonstrate the value of Moderna’s products incl. vaccines to support reimbursement, market access, vaccine recommendations, tender and contracting and successful institutional customer engagement
Effective communication of HEOR evidence as part of JCVI and local HTA, vaccine recommendation and price negotiation processes
Represent HEOR in early scientific engagement, benefit assessment and vaccine recommendation processes
Drive the local and inform the global design and execution of high-quality HEOR programs and studies
Oversee and represent local HEOR evidence requirements and gaps
Partner with cross-functional and global teams to develop the communication materials for HEOR data, including value dossiers and other payer relevant communication content
Develop and deliver data and data visualization as part of the omnichannel engagement of institutional customers
Direct external research vendors and consultants to deliver results
Manage HEOR budget and deliverables
Localization/ de novo generation of HEOR Studies/ Models
Generate robust Real World Evidence (RWE) and economic modelling strategies that support successful benefit assessments, vaccine recommendation, pricing and patient access at country level
Local adaptation of Value Dossiers and Tender Dossiers
Local HEOR strategies and plans for Moderna’s products
Local HEOR input into strategic planning processes and decision gates
HEOR content for the omnichannel execution
HEOR publication plans and HEOR publications for submission to scientific congresses and peer-reviewed journals
Partnering effectively with global support functions and other countries to execute on core deliverables
Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Ph.D., Sc.D. or Dr. P.H.; advanced degree in life sciences
Or Clinical degree (e.g., in medicine, pharmacy, nursing) and a masters degree in a related discipline (as noted above), plus five years practical experience
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Minimum 7 years of experience in the bio/pharmaceutical/ and/or vaccines environment.
Minimum 5 years of experience in HEOR function
A good understanding of the local healthcare systems and reimbursement processes, and public policy decisions-making. Experience with NITAG/ HTA, specifically JCVI and local HTA bodies, benefit assessment process and requirements.
Knowledge and understanding across healthcare payers including the NHS, JCVI, UKHSA and other government departments and bodies.
Experience in developing payer/ public health decision maker -relevant evidence, including real-world evidence
Experience in developing economic models
Experience in developing value dossiers, tender dossiers and dossiers supporting vaccine recommendations
Ambition to excel, with the drive, energy, and purpose to want to facilitate access of vaccines to drive growth and create population impact.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based medicine standards, HEOR research best practices, patient reported outcomes, data and analytics methods
Proven ability to develop external networks

Strong sense of priorities and able to handle various projects simultaneously, sometimes with short timelines
