A large insurer have a new opportunity for a FI/D&O Claims Adjuster. The role will involve handling large single risk Financial Institution and Director & Officer claims, from first advice through to settlement. This will include both primary and excesslayer business.
Ideally our client would like to find somebody with proven experience in both direct and reinsurance business controlling medium to high value claims, the ability to analyse and set reserves along with experience of technical referral.
This will be a hybrid role, with lots of scope to work from home.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and settle International FI and D&O claims
Investigate and negotiate claims where required
Influence the handling and settlement of claims by insurer and insured clients
Check case reserves and ensure adequate provision is made for outstanding liabilities
Nurture relationships with brokers, cedants and clients
Conduct audits and due diligence where required
Contribute to discussions about legal, political and market developments that may impact claims
Provide feedback to underwriters from a claims perspective and keep underwriters informed of all large or contentious claims as and when they arise
Build and maintain Groups reputation as technical guides and market leaders on claims related issues
Optimise the use of the resources at your disposal to ensure claims standards are adhered to
Monitor the performance of the claims technicians within your area of responsibility to ensure they adhere to Group guidelines and procedures. Where this is not the case instigate plans to correct any deficiencies
Provide and ensure support to other members of the team and on other classes of business where required
