Streatham & Clapham High School is seeking a conscientious, approachable, and positive-minded Learning Support Assistant to join our busy and varied department on a full-time basis.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an important role in assisting the classroom teacher by providing discreet 1:1 aid to pupils during lessons and leading breakout groups. In conjunction with the Subject Teacher you will also plan and implement interventions for individuals and groups of pupils, tailoring learning schemes to meet their specific needs. Additionally, you will create or adapt high-quality resources for lessons and your own group work, enabling pupils to be autonomous learners within the classroom.
You will be a caring, friendly and inclusive individual who is enthusiastic about supporting the development and progress of students in Years 6 and 7. You will possess a TA qualification, an honours degree, or an equivalent qualification as well as evidence of participation in relevant short CPD courses. Previous experience in an educational establishment or similar setting is essential, as is a proven track record of supporting children in a learning environment and building positive relationships.
