Platt & Hill is one of the UK’s leading polyester fibre processing companies, supplying the upholstery industry with high quality thermal bonded polyester wadding, latex and polyurethane foam conversion, polyester cushions, and contract pillows. Established in the late 19th century, the family run and owned company, has earned itself a reputation of supplying quality fillings to the furniture industry.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Fault finding and repair of têxtile machines - carding machines, thermal oven, cutting section, blending lines, band knifes & pneumatics.
- Machine maintenance & machine cleaning.
- Work to and adhere to daily work schedule.
- Ability to log work jobs and actions taken.
- Prioritising production stoppages.
- Security responsibilities.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Inform departmental manager or shift supervisor of problems and operational concerns.
- Routine maintenance schedules, will be carried out to maintenance schedule plan PPM (_planned_ _preventative maintenance)_
- Undertake weekly audits and stock checklists for priority parts

**Skills & Experience**
- Mechanical minded
- Experience in têxtiles machines would be an advantage but not necessary.
- Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Be good at problem-solving
- Have good communication skills
- Able to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines
- Be able to work on your own or as part of a team
