We are looking for a highly motivated maternity care support worker to join our women's and children's division.

You will provide a high standard of information and support to all mothers and their partners relating to both breast and formula feeding.

This support will be offered during the antenatal and early postnatal period.

To be involved in the assessment and planning of the care of women and their babies in relation to infant feeding and then implement and evaluate that care, reporting back and referring to the midwife as necessary.

To create an environment that promotes and protects breastfeeding and offers women sufficient information and support to enable them to breastfeed successfully.

To share impartial, evidenced based information about infant feeding with antenatal and postnatal patients to enable them to make a fully informed choice as to how they feed and care for their babies in accordance with the Trust Infant Feeding Policy associated guidelines and Baby Friendly Initiative Standards.

To ensure all care is parent and family centred, non-judgmental and that a parent's decisions about feeding her baby are supported and respected.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.

We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network.

In February 2022 the significant progress that has been made at QEH was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all of the core services they inspected. They recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
