An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Dietitian to champion excellence in Diabetes across the Trust. There will be opportunities to develop your dietetic skills in managing Paediatrics, spinal cord injury, sarcoma and other orthopaedic cases. As a part time post there can be some prearranged flexibility in working hours. Both on site with a blend of some working from home. The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital is a renowned, elective centre for musculoskeletal, spinal and metabolic conditions and is undergoing exciting major redevelopment and aspiring to outstanding Trust status

The Post holder will also lead and provide specialist care and advice for in-patients with Diabetes, supported by the Specialist Diabetes Nurse and act as an advisory role to the medical and nursing management of these patients. A large part of this role will involve leading and facilitating diabetes and nutrition projects within the Trust alongside the specialist Nurse and Consultant. The successful applicant will need to have some experience in diabetes care, able to work both autonomously and closely within the Nutrition and Dietetics team to improve nutrition and diabetes standards of care within the Trust.

You will be joining team lead by Band 8A dietician and will be part of wider Therapies Team at the hospital.

You will be working effectively with other members of the dietetics team to deliver a comprehensive nutrition advisory service. You will be providing multi professional education, training and expert advice to other staff within the trust and will be championing excellence in nutritional care.
