We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join The Rotherham Integrated Neurological Conditions Therapy Team.
Who are we?
The Integrated Neurological Conditions Service is comprised of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, assistant practitioners, rehabilitation nurses, Neurological Matrons, neuropsychologists and doctors, working within an interdisciplinary model.
The INCS service provides specialist in-patient neurological rehabilitation at the Rotherham Foundation Trust acute hospital site (including critical care), outpatient specialist rehabilitation therapy at a purpose built outpatient facility, rehab and long term neurological condition management delivered in people’s homes, rehabilitation consultant outpatient clinics and a specialist spasticity management service.
Who are you?
We are looking for a highly experienced, reflective and enthusiastic SLT to provide clinical leadership to our passionate, dynamic and patient focused team across all elements of the service. Your day to day work will be focused on supporting the patients within the nine commissioned beds within in-patients and community.
Clinically, applicants must be able to evidence relevant postgraduate experience within Neurological Rehabilitation, including advanced problem solving, treatment intervention and clinical reasoning skills in relation to complex Neurological Rehabilitation patients.
You will be a SLT with experience of enhanced multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team working, communication and dysphagia rehabilitation skills for Adults with neurological conditions including experience of working with tracheotomised and ventilator dependent patients. You will have experience of supervising others and have held responsibilities regarding supporting the wider MDT team.
You will be able to demonstrate highly specialist skills in assessment, management and treatment of patients with complex neurological presentations. You will have excellent team working skills, and be able to evidence clinical leadership of an Interdisciplinary Team. You will work with the Therapy Team Leader and Clinical Lead in service development and staff management duties.

You will receive clinical supervision, participate in regular in-service training sessions, and be supported to continue to develop both leadership and neurological specialist clinical skills. There are also opportunities to support the team lead in service development projects to order to enhance patient care and experience
Applicants will have:
- Current HCPC registration
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate experience to masters level or equivalent in Neurological Rehabilitation
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across Rotherham and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
