Critical Environment Manager

About the role: - Oversee all building systems and critical facilities equipment including fire/life safety, mechanical and electrical systems. Plan, implement, co-ordinate and supervise all mechanical/electrical operations, maintenance and energy management programs for acritical facilities environment. Ensure 100% uptime. - Recruit, manage and develop site team. - Maintain a motivated and engaged team. - Develop strong relationships with the client and embed a culture of "Service Excellence" with internal and external clients. - Build long term and sustainable relationships with 3rd Party specialist subcontractors. - Manage Statutory Compliance regimes through the various 'planned preventative maintenance' regime lines to ensure that targets and statutory/legislative compliance is achieved. - Execute all aspects of data centre operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data centre operation to achieve 100% uptime and 100% compliance with all client SLAs. - Responsible to ensure these high standards are maintained in respect of Technical Compliance and resilience and that service delivery is in line with the Data Centre "Uptime" requirements. - Ensure full understanding of any changes and development in legislation and working practices that may affect the Societies operations and/or present new opportunities. - Interpretation and production of risk assessment health & safety documentation - Ensure that the team is informed, motivated and trained so that service objectives are met in the most efficient and effective manner - Solve day to day problems which may impact mission critical infrastructure. - Manage performance to ensure that project scope aligned data centre protocols and business objective are met. - Lead and mentor a high-skilled multi-disciplinary team of personnel - Work with Finance Team in the planning, budgeting and control of operating and capital expenditures. - Recommend cost and efficiency improvements to be implemented. - Work with other DC Managers to ensure multi-site contract leverage and attain economy of scale on repeat services. - Our Client requires an interface with all operations within their data centre space to ensure best practice and standards are implemented on all infrastructure works - To comply with international DC standards - To maintain a health and safety focused environment - Management of power, space and capacity - To ensure all works are carried out under clients Change Management Procedures About you: You will be a generally good team player who enjoys collaborating with people, resolving problems with resilience and a can-do attitude Skills & Experience: - Previous management experience and strong understanding of critical environment operations - Trade qualification is essential - Good knowledge of electrical and maintenance services - You are a natural leader, good negotiator and can manage conflict where needed - Previous project delivery experience - Process management (Develop, review, implement, maintain) essential - be innovative - Planning, organising and prioritising skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong rapport and relationship building skills with both internal and external clients - Ability to work under pressure and keep calm in a crisis - Previous experience managing a team - Experience of coaching, training and developing a team both technical and non-technical - Experience of dealing with client problems in difficult circumstances - Experience of implementing cost controls & revenue generation - Appreciation of the data centre and co-location sector - Recognized formal technical training - Significant experience of knowledge of critical building infrastructure (e.g. UPS, Generators, BMS, HV/LV systems and switching, cooling systems, etc.)
