**Depot Location**: Glasgow (temporary in Airdrie)

**Contract**:Permanent

**Shift**:6 Days - Monday to Saturday (Sundays when required)

**Hours**: Core hours are 05:00 until 12:00 noon. You may be required at busy periods to work earlier or later

**Pay**: £10.42 per hour

**Holidays**: 28 days' paid holiday

We have over 250 delivery vans on the road and due to the demand for deliveries we are growing and are handling more parcels every day.

The depot environment can be demanding. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. By delivering a great operational service, you contribute to ensuring customers receive their parcels on time and in excellent condition.

**The role**:
Your primary responsibility will be to accurately sort and categorise incoming goods or packages based on specified criteria. This includes labelling, scanning, and ensuring proper documentation of items in the inventory system. Exception handling, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols are integral aspects of this role. Collaborating with team members and other departments is essential for the seamless flow of goods through the warehouse. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to maintaining a clean and organised workspace will contribute to the overall success of our warehouse operations.

**This role will initially be based in Airdrie, moving to Glasgow in to oncoming months. We may be able to support travel expenses if travelling from Glasgow.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Sorting, labelling, and scanning packages based on destination with efficiency and accuracy
- Monitoring for exceptions such as incorrect addresses, damaged packaging, or missing labels, and documenting and reporting exceptions
- Following safety protocols and actively working to resolve exceptions promptly and efficiently, minimizing delays in the sorting and delivery process
- Collaborating with other warehouse personnel, as well as departments to ensure the seamless flow of parcels through the warehouse
- Timely sorting is crucial for the overall efficiency of our services
- Working with the team and taking initiative independently to ensure the depot is kept clean and tidy
- Providing feedback on processes and suggesting improvements for enhanced efficiency

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a warehouse or sorting role is preferred
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to ensure that the Warehouse is always kept clean and tidy
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Great working ethic, always punctual, reliable and committed to go the extra mile
