Support Workers 16 hours, 22.5 hours, or 28 hours

Health and Nutrition Support Workers 19 hours (Two posts)

The role of a Support Worker, working for people with a learning disability, involves promoting independent personal care skills, daily living skills and social activities, increasing their confidence and to be as independent as possible in all aspects of their lives.

There is one 22.5 hour post at Oak Road which is a small care home providing a longer term living experience.

There are two support worker posts at Lanark, a short breaks service to support carers, which are 16 and 28 hours.

The Health and Nutrition Support Worker is to support people who access short breaks at Lanark Close to plan a healthy and varied menu, budget, and shop for the food, and then support in the cooking and serving of meals whilst promoting independent daily living skills and social activities.

We will provide you with a structured training program leading to a diploma in Adult Health and Social Care at Level 3 with a range of other learning opportunities and the encouragement to develop your career further.

All you need to be a success is:

- Experience of working in a care setting and a willingness to complete training to level 3 or if you are interested in the Health and Nutrition support worker role recent experience in a catering environment. Additional experience of supporting, teaching, or mentoring people with learning disabilities would be highly advantageous.
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Empathy and a passion to support others

The salary grade on appointment will be determined by qualifications and experience.
