**Robert Walters Group: Finance Analyst - Birmingham - £33,000 - £35,000- Permanent**

I'm currently working alongside a market leading business based in Birmingham in their recruitment of a Finance Analyst on a permanent basis. Paying between £33k-£35k based on experience. You will be working within the Investor Insight team, responsiblefor achieving timely, accurate and high-quality analysis of financial statements and associated reporting.

**Key responsibilities of the Finance Analyst**:

- Have a clear understanding of the Private Equity industry and Fund structure
- Be able to make independent judgements and formulate answers when not clearly provided
- Understand existing reporting and cash flow processes and procedures to be able to effectively use the existing quarterly report and cash flow data processing templates
- Be able to complete tasks independently and know when to escalate issues
- Have a clear understanding of client reporting requirements, the structure of the existing reports and client deliverable
- Be capable of independently conducting analysis of financial statements and capital account movements, extracting correct quantitative and qualitative information from financial reports
- Have a clear understanding of the Private Equity terminology, performance metrics, types of fees and expenses and company operating metrics
- Interact with clients on a regular basis regarding engagements/projects and to communicate updates, formulate questions and handle queries/requests
- Communicate with Fund Managers regarding questions you have formulated and submitted, derived from the analysis you have performed

**About you as the Finance Analyst**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics or other quantitative fields desirable
- Experience covering Private Equity or Real Estate in a previous role
- Strong analytic skills and self-motivation
- Exceptional attention to detail and curiosity to investigate out-of-pattern items
- Able to work with mínimal supervision, to perform and complete tasks independently and the ability to know when to escalate issues
- Proficient in Excel and MS Office suite. VBA/Macro skills are desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Organisation, excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise and ensure deadlines and client SLA's are adhered to
