An opportunity to work in a fantastic location at one of the most visited National Trust properties in the country. Our Shop and Plant Centre is always busy but retail experience is not essential for this role; only enthusiasm and and motivation to provide excellent customer service. Full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone who has the drive and energy to hep us continue growing our retail offer, which in turn provides funds for the National Trust's many conservation projects.

**The Hours: Up to 22.5 **per week, average shift **9.15am to 5.15pm **. Weekend work required on a rota basis.

**The Salary**:£9.60 per hour

**Duration**:Fixed Term for 3-6 months

Our Shop is at the heart of the visitor journey, opposite Reception at the entrance to the garden. Part of our role is to ensure that all or visitors are greeted and welcomed as they arrive, and thanked as they leave.

The wider property teams support each other well with projects and help each other when needed - it's a friendly and sociable place to work.

Our peak season is Autumn, when October brings the huge crowds to see the Autumn Colours and mirror lake reflections we are most famous for. It can be a super-busy time in the shop, but rewarding too and exciting to be a part of this annual event.

What you'll be doing:With your love of working with people and desire to provide an excellent service, you’ll acknowledge, welcome and engage every visitor, offering them help and advice with their purchases. This means you’re always on hand to help and the shop is maintained to a high standard.

The Retail Dept. is an active, industrious, hands-on environment; whether is an incoming delivery to unpack, plant trolleys to accept and displays to create, plants to water, stock counts to complete and of course, till transactions, there is always something to do. The whole team do a bit of everything, which makes us efficient and also ensures a varied and enjoyable day

We have a large Plant Centre which also requires the same attention to detail with presentation standards as the shop, as well as regular care of the plants and impactful displays of our garden accessory range.
