**Engineering Manager**

Our Staffordshire based client are looking for an Engineering Manager to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business. You will support the business moving forward on an exciting journey to achieve the next level of operational excellence.

As the **Engineering Manager** you will be able to bring your ideas and experience to the table, encourage, challenge and take responsibility for improving all elements of new product introduction, product development and technical support.

You will drive innovation within the business by creating, implementing and delivering an ambitious product strategy that will include both new products and upgrades.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will form part of the highly motivated senior management team and support the business to achieve its operational and growth objectives, whilst collaborating with other managers and team members to achievethese collective goals.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

- Lead product innovation programmes. Identifying and developing high margin, innovative products to improve our customers experience.
- Identify improvements that are required for existing products and lead these improvements.
- Work with the supply base to ensure we have well engineered products and mitigate any technical shortcomings.
- Ensure that technical files for all products remain up to date.
- Own the engineering master data for the business, taking responsibility for the creation, modification, and maintenance of all parts and bills of materials.
- Develop a new product introduction process and engineering change control process.
- Continually review all engineering and technical elements of the business to ensure we remain effective.
- Manage all engineering and technical personnel within the business and ensure that your team remains dynamic, supported and developed.
- Provide timely updates to senior management on progress and status of projects.

**Experience Required**
- Previous experience within engineering/manufacturing including design, fabrication, assembly, maintenance and fault finding.
- Familiar with Motor/gearbox specification, configuration and operation
- Able to create, interpret and review 2D and 3D engineering drawings
- Previous experience leading a team of engineers and creating new product development programmes.

**Qualifications Required**
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
