Warehouse Supervisor

Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rover’s new 2.94m square foot Mercia campus, oneof the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer. With a multimillion-pound major facility investment program already underway, we would like you to join us now to be part of the core implementation team and to transition to site leadership rolesin the ‘business as usual’ structure. This is a great opportunity to be a major part of the successful implementation of what is said to be the largest automotive logistics project in the UK.
You will join us as a Team Leader to lead a team of people through our User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases of this project. This means that you and your team will determine processes and help us to develop the warehouse management system and processes forthe new site. Initially you will work as a team in Coventry, before moving to the new site in Appleby Magna to be the first ‘boots on the ground’ who will train and develop the new recruits and team members. You will coordinate activities to achieve businessperformance; through focusing on continuous improvement and promoting a culture of employee engagement.
**Warehouse Supervisor Responsibilities**:

- Ensure health and safety standards are achieved on an on-going basis and actively promote individual responsibility for health and safety
- Responsible for the physical appearance and safety of the working environment
- To learn, fully understand and work within ‘The Unipart Way’ adopting lean management principles and approach
- Actively promote, take responsibility for embedding a culture of employee engagement within the team
- Responsible for managing 10 -15 employees
- Ensure that the team deliver Key Performance Indicators, where this performance is sustained and continually improved, with focus on quality
- Ensure processes have a relevant standard operating procedure
- Develop and maintain appropriate daily, weekly and monthly reporting mechanisms to monitor, control and improve performance - both operationally and financially
- Lead daily team meetings
- Manage the allocation of work on a daily basis, controlling headcount and overtime budgets and ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets met
- Promote flexibility through skills training and personal development
- Monitor team absence and performance, taking action where necessary
- Create and maintain an employee engagement culture, encouraging involvement from all team members
- Manage customer interfaces and expectations to ensure excellent customer service is received

**Warehouse Supervisor Requirements**:

- Previous experience of systems testing / working with warehouse management systems is an advantage
- Proven ability in delivering operational KPIs
- Ability to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environment
- Clear leadership skills, energy, and passion
- Computer literate
