Advanced Practitioner Sonographer

To perform a comprehensive range of ultrasound procedures without supervision, both within the department and externally, e.g. Wards, intensive care etc when required. To independently interpret ultrasound images, producing comprehensive final clinical reports and to communicate information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly with clinicians and patients. To contribute towards the efficient deployment of resources, enabling the patient to receive a safe, accurate and timely examination.
To prioritise patients and organise workload from a variety of referral pathways to meet the needs of the service, including issuing immediate reports where necessary ensuring clinical timescales are met. To contribute towards finding solutions which will meet the rapidly changing demands on the radiology service. Please see attached Job description and person specification for more information.
