The Best Connection Group Limited is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join our existing team based in Bromsgrove.

**The Role**:
Key duties will include supporting the monthly management accounts preparation and month end routines and processes, for a number of companies across the group, through the processing of journals and reconciliations and variance analysis. You will also assistwith the preparation of financial statements and accounts, budgeting, managing ledgers, processing invoices, and preparing VAT returns.

There will be active involvement with all aspects of the finance function, including payroll, sales ledger and purchase ledger with the ability to resolve a broad range of staff queries.

The role will also involve providing commercial and financial support to operational staff across a national branch network with tax and compliance reporting for UK and Overseas.

**Responsibilities**:
Help manage the organisation's general ledger

Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
Assist with preparation of audit materials

Assisting with the month end management accounts production

Accruals and Prepayments

Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Fixed Assets

VAT Returns

Statement and bank reconciliation's

Allocating and processing payments

Expenses & Petty Cash processing / management

Accruals and Prepayments

**The Package**:

- Annual salary of approximately £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience
- Initially you will be entitled to 30 days paid holiday per annum, rising to 33 days after a year’s employment inclusive of statutory holidays

**The Person**:

- To be successful, you will be part qualified or have extensive practical experience in a varied finance role
- Dynamic with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- You will need to have excellent Excel and communication skills and be a proactive individual focused on system and reporting improvements
- You will have strong problem-solving abilities be proactive, positive, and motivated with a methodical and logical approach
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy

**Hours of Work**:
Your working week will consist of up to 37.5 hours Monday - Friday with 1 hour’s lunch break each day.
