**About the role**
Drax Power Station has been part of the local Yorkshire landscape since the 1970s and has been a key player in the UK energy industry since its inception. We have an incredible site and continue to chart an exciting course and we want you to help tell our story
As a Community & Education Officer at Drax, you will be providing visitors and members of staff with first-class tours of Drax Power Station. You’ll be responsible for researching and planning tours to ensure that each visitor has an enjoyable, educational and safe visit. It’s a complex process generating electricity, and you will be translating this process into an engaging and easy-to-understand way so that each visitor leaves knowing how the UK’s largest power station works
As well as focusing on providing first-class tours of the power station, day to day you’ll identify, research and develop educational outreach resources and activities from KS3 and beyond to ensure academic curriculum relevance and deliver the best possible learning outcomes.

**About you**
We are looking for a confident presenter who can bring the Drax story to life, coupled with an interest or understanding in anything to do with energy, the environment, sustainability, engineering, science and education. In addition to being a confident presenter, you’ll need to have great administration skills. You may not be an expert yet, but you will need to be inquisitive with a desire to learn about Drax, our journey and how we keep the country’s lights on
We are looking for someone join us on a part time basis covering 3 days a week (ideally Monday, Tuesday and Friday) but some flexibility is required, as well as successfully passing a DBS check.
You will need to have a D1 Category minibus license or be willing to undertake the necessary training to obtain the correct category as you will be driving our minibus on tours of our Selby site.
