John Copland and Son is an established, family-run, legal firm based on the Isle of Sheppey that has been supporting a wide range of medium and small businesses, institutions, families and individuals, mostly with a connection to Sheppey and the North Kentarea since 1867. Most of our work involves, buying, selling, managing and dealing with Property, Estates, Companies and Trusts and Court work dealing with divorce, child and financial claims, personal injury, estates disputes and commercial disputes.

**Legal Secretary/Paralegal**

Role and Responsibilities
- You will work closely with our Senior Matrimonial Solicitor supporting on a range of legal secretarial tasks focused on divorce, financial and child disputes.
- You support the firm with correspondence with clients and legal organisations - writing letters from dictations, completing legal documentation, preparing trial bundles etc.
- You are confident taking and documenting accurate notes in relation to ongoing cases and disputes
- You act as a point of contact managing incoming calls/enquiries
- You are responsible for the diary/calendar management for the Senior Matrimonial Solicitor within the matrimonial department and support setting up meetings
- You work to a high standard and maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times

Your Experience
- You are experienced working within a legal secretarial or paralegal capacity
- You are experienced and comfortable typing from dictation, preparing trial bundles and supporting with general administrative work in a legal capacity
- You have excellent people skills and are highly organised
- You have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
