**The role**
A standalone generalist HR position, however, will always have the guidance & direction of a supportive management/directorate team and the HR Manager will be available to contact for help and support throughout the contract.
This is a fixed term contract position to cover a Maternity Leave period with a focus on effective and efficient administration, process, and policy management. The purpose of the role is to support the newly designed and implemented HR function, maintaina credible and reputable department, with the employees & business at the heart of all HR related tasks and initiatives. The business has recently introduced a pool of various People focussed initiatives and it is crucial that these continue to be driven ina positive manner while the current HR Manager is on maternity leave.
The role is to support all employees across the business with a shared focus of priority and empathy with a people focused approach at all times while supporting managers in _only _best practice across the board.
This is very much a business support position with many exciting ways to add value to a growing business in a fascinating industry with many moving parts to keep anyone in this position engaged.
Given the nature of the role, professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and strong understanding of Data Protection and GDPR is absolutely essential.
**Key responsibilities (General & Task Management): _(this list is not exhaustive)_**
**Recruitment & Onboarding**
- To provide comprehensive support and advice to managers on recruitment and on boarding to provide a quality service that meets business needs
- Act as first point of contact for any new starters within the Organisation on any queries or issues they may have
- Drafting job descriptions and adverts
**Employee Life-Cycle**
- Manage the end-to-end Employee Life Cycle tasks: Complete Right to work checks, deliver HR inductions, adding/removing new starters to HRIS, Training Platform and Benefits Platforms and conducting exit interviews
- Generate letters including, offer, ER, probationary, leaver letters in a timely and accurate manner
- Respond to HR related queries as a first line advisor to managers across the Organisation, delivering advice on employment law, policies, and practices
**Employee Relations**
- Pro-active attendance management monitoring including supporting managers with required interventions and escalating issues of concern where interventions are not implemented.
- Administering and taking minutes in key meetings; disciplinary and grievance meetings and project meetings (and as directed by Line Manager)
- Proactively manage both formal and informal ER cases and work collaboratively to provide support up to final warning levels
- Support line managers to effectively progress issues such as absence management
**Learning & Development**
- Assist with delivery of training programs on training platform
- Help identifying training needs and sourcing training providers where necessary/applicable
- Maintain training platforms with up-to-date employee data#
- Be the point of Contact for the training platform
**Data, Administration & Reporting**
- Supporting & maintain the development of new/revised HR systems and processes.
- Monthly reporting
- Manage and support the facilitation of Health Surveillance appointments and data recording
- Effectively record all H&S data for the business on the relevant database
- Support the Finance Manager as required with information & data requests
**Projects**
- Support with any ad-hoc projects or work given by your Line Manager or directors
**Key skills and experience required/ Person Specification**
- An experienced HR administrator or HR Assistant (Essential)
- Ability to communicate and engage with people across all levels (Essential)
- Confident in handling ER queries (Essential)
- Have an awareness/ up-to-date knowledge of employment law/best practice (Essential)
- Well versed with MS Applications including Excel (Essential)
- CIPD level 5 qualified or working towards (Desirable)
- Ability to build effective relationships quickly (Essential)
- Resilient and speak with conviction, especially when advising on employment law (Essential)
- Prior experience in manufacturing (Desirable)
- Demonstratable recruitment experience (Essential)
- Demonstratable ER knowledge and experience (Essential)
- Health & Safety at Work Experience/Knowledge (Desirable)
- Strong understanding of Data Protection and GDPR laws & regulations (Essential)
- Reasonable typing speed to proficiently support in notetaking when applicable (Essential)
- Strong listening skills (Essential)
- Experience in using HRIS (Essential)
