Tungsten West is a mining development company focussed on the restarting of the world-class Hemerdon Tungsten-Tin mine located in South Devon, UK. The Company is the 100% owner of the previously producing Hemerdon mine, which is currently the 2nd largest tungsten resource in the world. With demand for strategic metals, including tungsten and tin, increasing rapidly due to their critical use in new technology, Tungsten West is focussed on meeting this demand by restarting production at Hemerdon in the next 12 months.
Join the team working on the mine re-start, being an integral member throughout the project re-build, commissioning/ramp-up and into production.
**The Role**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times.
- Monitor, engage and make submissions to the Mineral Planning Authority and liaise closely with County and District planning authorities
- Work with internal operational teams to provide day to day planning and estates advise and support waste, water and air regulatory activities
- Negotiate land acquisitions, options/leases, planning obligations, and instruct and liaise closely with external lawyers to secure legal agreements
- Work with advisors and tenants to manage the amenity estate
- Work with external parties to manage the ongoing restoration and closure schemes and amenity value of restored landholding
- Liaise and engage with a wide range of interested parties and stakeholders across the business to maintain and further develop the positive relationship we have with our local communities
- Actively identify and evaluate new growth and development opportunities for the Company
**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essentials**:
- Relevant degree/qualification accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute
- Membership or working towards Chartered status with the Royal Town Planning Institute
- Demonstrable experience in project management
- UK (or equivalent) driving licence
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office
- Communication skills, attention to detail, high organisation skills, project management, working to deadlines
**Desirable**:
- Previous experience in mining/quarrying and/or heavy industry
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
