My client is looking for a Financial Accountant to play a key role in supporting the successfuldelivery of their financial strategy.
Your new role as Financial Accountant:
Your duties will include:

- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant on the preparation of the annual statutory accounts for the Group and its members, ensuring they are prepared accurately, together with any relevant notes and working papers to ensure a positive audit opinion withmínimal recommendations.
- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant to lead on the annual external audit process for the Group and its members, to ensure audit compliance, and assist with the provision and explanation of accounting information to internal and external audit as required.
- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant in all tax compliance and advice, including but not limited to VAT, Partial Exemption Special Method, Corporation Tax, Transfer Pricing and Capital Gains Tax.
- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant in managing and reviewing the completion and submission of any financial regulatory returns, such as the Regulator of Social Housing quarterly surveys, FVA and FFR.
- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant in the annual review of the financial regulations including, implementation of, policing of, dissemination of the information, and training where required.
- To assist in maintaining and reviewing the adequacy of internal control and stewardship, to include but not limited to:

- Ensuring control account reconciliations are completed, monitored, signed off and up to date,
- Ensuring all internal and external audit recommendations are implemented on a timely manner across the department,
- Ensuring all procedures are up to date.
- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant in assessing the financial risks and tax implications from a commercial and technical perspective in line with the growth strategy.
- To assist the Senior Financial Accountant in their role of custodian for the Assets and Liabilities Register, ensuring it continues to be fit for purpose, is regularly updated, and contains all relevant and appropriate information. To manage the review processeach year between EMT and ACR.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with emerging issues in the sector and assessing any financial or operational impact on the relevant companies, then dissemination this across the Finance Teams.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with changes in accounting regulations and tax legislation and then providing the relevant training across the relevant teams.
The Experience & Qualifications Required:
Qualified Accountant or working towards qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
Experience in the preparation of Statutory Accounts for a Group of companies
Experience in the external audit process
Experience of HMRC compliance and tax related issues for a Group of companies
Ability to interpret and implement regulatory and legislative changes
Confident using Excel spread sheets to manipulate and analyse financial data
Experience in the completion of regulatory returns
Effective communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to explain financial issues in an accessible way to non-finance people

A salary of £39,000 per annum (dependant on skills and experience)
