This role is for an Investigation Officer within the Protecting Vulnerable People team at Luton Police Station. The team are responsible for the investigation of offences concerning current and non-recent inter-familial abuse of children, abuse of a position of trust of children, allegations of child abuse, including sexual, physical, emotional and neglect. The team also deal with crimes against vulnerable adults where there is an issue of capacity affecting their understanding of being as being a victim of crime, or being able to report it and offences committed by carers or professionals.

There is a shift pattern that currently incorporates one weekend in four and hours ranging between 8am and 8pm.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the College of Policing’s Professionalising Investigations Programme (PIP) accreditation. This will be completed ‘on the job’ and all necessary training and support will be provided.
