We seek to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are passionate about CYP mental health, with a demonstrable track record of CAMHS clinical and supervisory experience. You will be a CAMHS professional, registered with a professional body) or have equivalent qualifications and accreditation and have experience of working in a Child and Young person Mental Health Setting.

You will be joining the new Wave 10 Mental Health Support Team in East Cheshire, but will have the opportunity to work across the wider MHST sites as required.

The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and well being of children and young people in the community. There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving emotional support within all primary and secondary schools. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams will be part of CYP Access function.

The Mental Health Practitioner role for MHST will be to support the delivery of all interventions provided by Emotional & Mental Health Practitioners, ensuring that a wide range of evidence based interventions are used to support young people’s mental health. You will support leadership and will be involved in the development of the MHST alongside the Clinical Lead and Clinical Coordinator, supervising practitioners and other senior colleagues in the service and within the borough.

Promote positive Mental Well-Being as well as Positive Mental Health.Contribute to the CAMHS multi professional team assessing, delivering and evaluating the mental health needs of the young people accepted by the service.

The post holder will be part of the team as it develops towards CAMHS Transformation ( evening, weekend hours) and the Thrive Framework.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
