Production Supervisor

**Job Purpose**

Reporting to the Production Team Leader the role is responsible for ensuring production flows through the factory within process parameters and producing products to specification in order to meet the weekly and monthly plans and that all documentation is completed accurately. Providing a lead in continually improving process and plant operation. Creating a well-trained and productive workforce in an environment meeting all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.

**Key Accountabilities & Activities**
- Carry out manufacture and ensure operatives adhere to all manufacturing instructions in order to meet the quality and product specifications on all batches produced.
- Adhere to program throughout the process, making the product to plan on a daily basis.
- Allocate operatives to tasks in the most appropriate way throughout the shift to meet production targets and schedules.
- Check that all work carried out is to the standard required as laid down in the standard operating procedures and to comply with quality systems. Maintain records accurately as required.
- Set up and control trials in order to improve quality, and or output, and or the use of new raw materials from different suppliers.
- Report daily to the Production Team Leader on performance issues, sickness and absence.
- Overseeing transport and working with the administration team to ensure the smooth running of all goods in and out.
- Request maintenance tasks as needed to keep the production flowing.

**Staff Management**
- Deliver training to operatives as needed and when requested by the Production Team Leader to ensure operatives are competent and flexible.
- Ensure work is carried out to standard and records accurately maintained.

**Continuous Improvement**

** **Make suggestions and take action on suggestions around plant improvement, process improvement, equipment modifications and all other areas of plant operation to continually improve plant operability, quality and productivity.

**Health and Safety**

** **Maintain a high standard of Health and Safety and Environmental protection to create a safe working environment and in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure correct issue and utilisation of PPE and enforcement of use of PPE
- Recognise and communicate hazards, set and impose the appropriate standards to reduce and eradicate hazards.
- Ensure production personnel comply with housekeeping standards. Provide the lead and monitor operative performance in order to create a clean, safe, tidy and organised work environment.

**Communication**
- Ensure handovers between shifts are adequate within the constraints of current working practises.
- Make sure that everyone in production that needs to be made aware of trials and process or plant changes to ensure that change is introduced efficiently and effectively.
- Participate as necessary in regular meetings i.e. Production, Quality, Engineering and Health and Safety in order to agree and carry out any actions required to meet the priorities set.

**General**
- Lead and participate in projects to completion as requested by the Production Team Leader to continually improve the performance of the factory.

**Salary**: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
