**Job description**:
The Intelligent Client Function in Rural Payments Agency is expanding its capability to support the delivery of IT changes/initiatives that are critical to ensure our technology is up to date and in line with the government’s digital vision for the future.
The Intelligent Client Lead is a role working in RPAs Business Transformation directorate. You will report directly to the Intelligent Client Programme Manager and work alongside the rest of the Intelligent Client team.
You will support the crucial relationship with DEFRA’s Digital Data & Technology Service (DDTS). The role will proactively develop strong working partnerships across DDTS, working directly with DDTS’ business relationship managers in order to facilitate a focus on high quality outcomes and services from our IT delivery partner.
The role will contribute in influencing IT change that will have a direct impact on the future of agriculture and the country’s rural economy and will be at the heart of a major cultural transformation within the RPA.

The role will also be key in driving forward the Business as usual (BAU) IT service provision to support the day to day running of IT services required to deliver RPAs business.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work with colleagues across RPA to translate strategic and business objectives to facilitate a clear understanding of RPA’s digital and technology requirements in DDTS
- Support in the translation of technology and digital roadmaps into meaningful user focus outcomes, working closely with colleagues across RPA to ensure they will meet needs
- Cover for the G6 deputy Senior Risk Owner at meetings, playing a leading role in security governance such as DEFRAs Security Working Group
- Support programme and projects in developing and maintaining strong relationships with DDTS and in articulating business requirements clearly
- Proactively drive collaboration between technology and delivery, in particular working closely with new and future DDTS Business Relationship Managers and supporting stakeholders including senior leaders across the organisation to understand DDTS’ requirements of the RPA and helping to facilitate and embed relationships
- Building on BAU IT service provision reviewing DDTS and RPA processes to enable better alignment e.g. change management processes
- Lead and support programme and projects in developing and maintaining strong relationships with DDTS and in articulating business requirements clearly.
- Develop capital funding bids on behalf of RPA to support strategic and business delivery, including working in partnership with DDTS and key programmes to ensure RPA requirements are reflected in bids and business cases
