We have an opportunity for you to come & joinour busy Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) service. We are looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic people, appropriate training will be given dependent upon previous knowledge and experience. You must be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. As part of our busy team you will play your part of delivering excellent supportive clinical care through Clinical Audit and Surveillance. Playing a vital role in providing assurance of effectiveness and highlighting areas for improvement keeping our staff and patients safe. This is a patient facing role, in the clinical environment workingacross the organisation in both acute and community settings. Motivation and a good awareness of the concepts of clinical audit and its effectiveness is key.
The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Associate will work as part of the Infection Prevention and Control team, undertaking routine IPC related audits to monitor standards of IPC practice across the Integrated Care Organisation (ICO). The post holder will report findings to senior IPC staff, working closely with the education team to improve practices
The post holder will assist the Surveillance/Data Analyst with the collection of data for the UKHSA Surgical Site Infection Surveillance Service.

- Work closely and with the support of the IPC educational team to ensure:
- IPC clinical and environment audit including surgical site infection surveillance.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of IPC audit provision, including setting up an annual audit schedule and the development of processes to undertake audits across the ICO.
- Monitor compliance with IPC policies through audit.
- Undertake accurate data entry on several platforms including MS Excel and Tendable.
- With the supervision of the Surveillance/Data Analyst, create reports to present audit findings visually using charts/graphs, and feedback any urgent findings to IPC nursing staff.
- Feedback findings of audits to clinical areas, highlighting good practice as well as areas for improvement with action plan and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff regarding the purpose of audits taking place, understanding and complying if the time of audit is not convenient and rescheduling appropriately.
