The post holders will participate on full shift rotas and will be required to provide a range of services. The post holders will also be encouraged to undertake continuing medical education and study leave will be available as per the Trust policy. The post holders will have the opportunity to attend departmental teaching every week. The post holders will work in collaboration with and under the direction of the Consultants and other members of the teams in the day-to-day management of patients within the service.
Duties include ward rounds, assisting the Consultants and senior trainees in clinic and the operating theatre, undertaking the pre
- and post-operative care of patients on the wards and attendance for referrals in the Accident and Emergency Department. These posts are therefore ideally suited to those looking to augment their portfolio for career progression in surgical specialties.
