**Job purpose**: To Support SFI Health (Wigan site) to comply with the health and safety rule. Counsel employees to ensure and promote health and safety in the workplace and co-ordinate accident prevention and health and safety measures within an organisation. Also raising awareness in workplaces by influencing and engaging. operating permission and licensing activities in major hazard industries. carrying out targeted inspections and investigations.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:

- Comprehensive onsite health & safety audit and inspection covering all aspects of property, workplace activity and fire safety arrangements written report and action plan to ensure full compliance.
- Onsite fire risk assessments to RRFSO2005 standard written report and action plan to ensure full compliance.
- Reviewing and updating of all policies, procedures and risk assessments.
- Conducting GAP analysis.
- Preparation of training matrix with training materials and delivery
- Ensure ongoing compliance.
- Representation for health and safety incidents and interventions including investigations.
- Fire evacuation planning including fire warden training.
- Implementation and management of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 Management Systems

**Section 1: Full H&S Premises Audit/Inspection/Gap Analysis**

inspect premises examine the buildings, facilities and furnishings and carry out a thorough examination of the maintenance, servicing, and inspection records to determine compliance with statutory requirements and best practice.

Prepare a Key Findings Summary and Action Plan, highlighting areas of non-conformance and providing guidance and support carrying out any remedial actions.

**Section 2: Review/Update of Fire Risk Assessment**

Carry out full review, based on the RRFSO 2005 using an approved format acknowledged and accepted by the Enforcing Authorities. Report in detail any non-compliances and actions to be taken to comply with the RRFSO.

**Section 3: Documentation review**

Review of existing documents and updating of policy, and company specific risk assessments and forms (as required)
- Closing out actions identified by Audit and Fire Risk Assessment
- Reviewing, advising and updating of property and task-based risk assessments identified in your “Risk Assessment Progression” and updating of COSHH Assessments
- Reviewing, advising and updating on policy and procedures
- Preparing training matrix and delivering face to face training and toolbox talks
- Developing process for contractor vetting
- Reviewing accident/ near miss reporting
- Site visits

**Position Profile**:

- Nebosh or Ioshh qualification
- Study in science related field desirable

Five years of experience required in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ‘self-starter’ who is comfortable working either individually or as part of a cross-functional team with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Results-oriented, commercial operator focused on high quality outcomes.
- Strong leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects with excellent attention to detail.
- Competent person with a professional approach
- A commitment to working closely with the team and to add value to the business
- Qualified support and advice delivered in a pragmatic and commercial manner

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From £21,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 24 per week
