Regional Fellow in Anaesthesia ( ST3+ or equivalent)

**Duration**: 6 Months

**Salary**: £51,017 pa

Applications are invited for a Regional Fellow in Anaesthesia for 6 months. The job will offer full training and support. The post will include the ability to achieve CT3 competencies if deemed appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Regional Fellowship post

**Training objectives**:
1. To achieve advanced competency in a wide range of regional anaesthetic Techniques using a variety of methods to assist the safe placement of needles and catheters including the understanding of the relevant use of ultra sound.
1. To be able to choose an appropriate block for surgery and demonstrate the ability to manage lists in which regional anaesthetic techniques have a major role, communicating and operating effectively to ensure smooth running of such lists.
1. To recognise and treat complications of regional anaesthesia
2. To be familiar with current literature and evidence pertaining to regional anaesthesia.
3. To become involved in teaching both locally and at a regional level.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.

The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services. The Trust serves the whole of the local population currently in excess of 250,000 residents which geographically covers populations in England and North Wales.
