Specialist in Substance Misuse Psychiatry

This is a new post to support the Substance Misuse Service Tier 3 provision in West and Central areas following retirement/reduction in hours of SAS/specialist doctors.

The BCUHB SMS currently consists of 6 community based multi-disciplinary teams, a specialist midwifery service and harm reduction team, BBV and collaborative outreach service and supports an alcohol liaison nursing team clinically within the District General Hospitals, covering the 6 counties of North Wales.

The inpatient unit has 13 commissioned adult beds for North Wales residents which would be the responsibility of the SMS medical team. It is currently managed by Aderid who also provide a range of substance misuse services in North Wales.

The post will provide medical support to the community teams on a full-time basis working closely with the current Specialist, SAS doctors and Consultant.
