GARDENER

Are you passionate about gardening and growing your own produce?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our gardening team at Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House.

We are looking for a full-time, permanent gardener to join the team and assist in ensuring the hotel grounds, gardens and outside public areas are kept neat and tidy fitting of a four-star hotel.

Previous horticultural experience preferred but not essential.

**Key Responsibilities and preferred requirements**:

- Operate mowing equipment and other light equipment
- Prune and maintain trees and shrubs as required
- Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis and ensure all equipment is clean and in safe working order
- Report equipment problems or failures immediately
- Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety policies
- Pick litter, weeding, Grass cutting, edging and general grounds upkeep.
- Other duties as assigned

**Your experience and skills include**:

- Familiar with grass cutting and horticultural equipment preferred
- Good knowledge of modern grounds and horticultural practises on both soft and hard landscape areas preferred

**Your team and working environment**:

- Working as part of a team, however the job does require an element of lone working.

**Salary**: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
