**We are looking to recruit Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Rustington. We have full time positions available for 37.5 hours a week on a permanent basis.**
Shift patterns include 07.00 - 14.30, 14.00 - 21.30 and sleep in's 21.30 - 07.00. Flexibility to cover all shifts on a rota basis is important to ensure we are able to provide the support needed within the service. Sleep in's are paid in line with National Minimum Wage and additional to your contracted hours.
**About the Service**
We support eight adults at our residential care home who have higher needs and therefore more support. They have profound and multiple learning disabilities, mobility impairments which means some of them are wheelchair users and have other complex healthcare requirements.
Day to day tasks will include, assisting the people we support to be as independent as possible yet providing encouragement with household chores, cooking, grocery shopping and understanding their finances. Intimate personal care, moving & handling and medication administering are a daily occurrence so you must be comfortable with this. The people within the service also enjoy activities in the community such as swimming, visiting the local car boots and markets, going to the beach and shopping

**What does a Support Worker do?**
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
- **Supporting people to live independently** - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- **Relationship building **- supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- **Community & Social Inclusion** - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- **Personal care** - helping people to get ready for the day.This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
