To promote the safeguarding of adults with care and support needs within the organisation. To identify and champion safeguarding adults development and innovations. To promote continuous improvement in the delivery of excellent services. Ensure that the views of service users, their carers, families and representatives are taken into account in the development and implementation of safeguarding adults service provision.

To influence service delivery around domestic abuse, seeking to empower colleagues, clients, and carers. To overcome staff and public barriers to understanding the area of safeguarding adults including issues around domestic abuse and the assessment of mental capacity. Training To support the Head of Safeguarding and Safeguarding team in meeting the safeguarding adults training needs for the organisations staff. To support the Head of Safeguarding and Safeguarding team in the design/deliver or commission training that gives the opportunity for retention of knowledge and facilitates transfer of learning experiences to the workplace and then to evaluate the training.

Review research in the area of safeguarding adults and advise the Trust accordingly. Undertake any research appropriate to the role. Advice and Support To promote good professional practice within the organisation around safeguarding adults by providing safeguarding adults advice and guidance on request to all Trust staff. To work alongside managers in building confidence and skills in undertaking the Section 75 duties in mental health services.

To provide an ad hoc safeguarding adults supervision service for any relevant frontline staff who need support or time for reflection when dealing with safeguarding adults issues and to maintain monitoring data on take-up rate. To improve patient care through empowering all Trust staff to identify and tackle abuse. To monitor the safeguarding adults work within the organisation and report regularly to the appropriate groups on progress. To help plan, develop and evaluate systems to gather, collate, analyse, interpret, monitor, present, disseminate and generally act as a repository for safeguarding adults information within the Trust.

To analyse incoming data and produce reports of recommendations from a range of options. To take appropriate action to ensure that decisions and recommendations in individual cases are followed through. Multi-Agency Working To participate in and promote multi-agency working by liaising closely with the Local Safeguarding Adults Boards / Partnerships to ensure joined up multi-agency working to safeguard adults across the Trust. To attend relevant meetings both internal and external to the organisation e.g., the Safeguarding Adults Subgroups.

The post holder will represent the Trust on multi-agency meetings where complex multi-stranded concepts are discussed and will have to communicate the Trusts viewpoint and vision clearly, enabling others to share that vision. To work with multi-agency colleagues e.g., Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and other committees, negotiating outcomes, disseminating trends, research and promoting clinical quality and outcomes.
