We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Nursery Cook to plan and prepare meals and snacks and manage the kitchen.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook healthy two course meals, afternoon teas and snacks for children aged 6 months and 4 years.
- Ensure all food safety requirements are followed and kept up-to-date
- Ensure excellent standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times in the kitchen
- Contribute to the nursery’s commitment to healthy living and encouraging children to try new foods, textures and tastes
- Demonstrate a high level of awareness regarding allergens and dietary/cultural requirements
- Work with management to devise interesting, healthy and enjoyable menus
- Follow all policies and procedures relating to the setting
- Complete all relevant records, monitoring and paperwork relating to kitchen activities.
- Maintain confidentiality about the nursery, the children, their families or staff
- To undertake any other duties, including cleaning of some communal areas, as required

**Experience**
- Excellent awareness of hygiene standards
- Experience of working in a professional kitchen
- Qualification in cookery and food hygiene (preferable)
- Professional appearance with a kind, friendly manner, able to relate to young children
- Organised, able to use initiative and work under pressure staying calm
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrable understanding of potential allergens and choking hazards

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £12.25-£12.75 per hour
