Surgical Care Practitioner

Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Surgical Care Practitioner - T&O ( Shoulder & Elbow)
You will work within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department acting as assistant to the Surgeons and contributing to pre
- and post-operative care on the wards, within the elective clinic settings and acting autonomously within agreed boundaries ensuring patients receive continuity of care to the highest standard.
You will participate in Trust Service Development by contributing to evidence-based development of clinical practice, protocols & guidelines and participate in audit and research projects.
Perform specialised skilled assistance & surgical intervention under the direction & supervision of a Consultant Surgeon in the operating theatre
Work as a peri-operative practitioner within the ward, theatre and outpatient settings
Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team participating in the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care
Participation in the education and development of ancillary, nursing and junior medical staff and trainee surgical care practitioners
Provide cover for other Surgical Care Practitioners as necessary
Liaise with the medical secretaries & the orthopaedic industry regarding the use & support of their products with the Orthopaedic Theatre Lead
