**About this career opportunity**

The purpose of this role is to raise the profile of Arup’s climate and sustainability services, positioning us as consultant of choice for net zero carbon and climate resilience services in the region. In this role you will play an instrumental part in Arup becoming more widely recognised as an organisation contributing significantly and meaningfully to climate action and to progress toward sustainable development through our work with clients.

The UKIMEA Climate and Sustainability Services Marketing Manager will develop and deliver strategic marketing activity to showcase our expertise, position us as market leaders, and support the maintenance and growth of strong client relationships. As part of this, you will act as an advisor to the climate and sustainability services leadership team, advising them on the appropriate marketing approaches to achieve their business objectives, based on your knowledge of the market, our position within it, and of marketing strategy and tactics.

You will also work closely with other marketing, communications and win-work focused colleagues, ensuring alignment across plans and activity, and embedding compelling messages about climate and sustainability services across a wide range of our marketing activity.

**Significant relationships for the post will include**:

- With the leadership team of our climate and sustainability services portfolio
- With the UKIMEA marketing team on national or region-level campaigns
- With the global climate and sustainability marketers
- With Arup marketers across the UK. This will include those focused on other services and markets, such as energy, property, water, advisory services and cities. And also with marketers based in Arup’s UK geographies, including to localise Arup’s positioning activity in relation to climate and sustainability services
- With PR and internal communications colleagues

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Leading development, delivery, and regular assessment of Arup’s climate and sustainability services marketing strategy and annual plan, ensuring it responds to the business’s objectives and is aligned with the global and regional climate services plans.
- Working with senior stakeholders to advise and influence their thinking on the best marketing approaches to take; advising on how best to achieve return on investment and proactively proposing marketing activity.
- Delivering an annual programme of tactical marketing activity that is informed by the climate and sustainability services portfolio’s strategic plan.
- Reporting on the impact of marketing activity, including contributing to UK marketing and communications impact reports as part of the annual strategic marketing planning cycle.
- Acting as an advisor to colleagues across marketing, communications and win work on issues relating to sustainable development and climate change, with the goal of developing the knowledge and skills of others and of improving the accuracy, relevance and overall quality of our sustainable development and climate change-related marketing and communications messaging and content.
- Delivering occasional internal marketing updates about the achievements and priorities of our climate services, working with key stakeholders and the UKIMEA internal communications team.

**We are looking for someone with the following knowledge, skills, experience and attributes**:

- Good and current knowledge of UK climate policy and regulation and the role this plays in shaping the market for climate services within the private and public sectors.
- Knowledge of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and how their adoption by the business community has the potential to contribute to systemic change.
- Marketing experience within a professional services B2B context and, ideally, supported by a relevant professional marketing qualification.
