**About the Service**
NS Mind is proud to be part of a service dedicated to making homelessness history. Led by Concrete and alongside Adullam, Changes and Walk we are delivering a 24/7 support service that helps our customers not just survive but thrive in their homes through a bespoke, seamless, long-term recovery solution to tackle the underlying issues of homelessness.
As our Maintenance Person, you will work closely with the Housing Coordinator to ensure our tenants properties are kept in good order so that they can continue to achieve their full potential whilst feeling safe and secure in their homes.
**About You**
We are looking for someone who can turn their hand to anything You may have your own existing maintenance business/job and be looking for a guaranteed income alongside, or you may be looking to build on your experience in this field and be interested in upskilling or learning more as you go.
You should have experience in a maintenance role, possess basic handyperson skills and demonstrate excellent attention to detail, taking pride in your work.
You should be customer focused, enthusiastic and flexible with a determination to be part of a team who want to improve the lives of our residents as they move towards a more independent way of living.
You must hold a full UK driving licence for this role, as driving with equipment between properties is essential. Use of your own suitable vehicle for business use is an advantage, but not essential.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Undertake any allocated jobs as directed by the Housing Coordinator
- Respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner
- Provide a professional and responsive service for day to day works, dealing with small general items of interior and exterior maintenance and repair to include, but not limited to:
- light cleans
- minor plumbing jobs
- clearance of void properties
- general minor garden maintenance
- painting
- basic repairs
- installing accessories such as curtain poles and blinds and assembling flat pack furniture
- Assist the team as required with regular health and safety maintenance checks such as fire alarm and emergency lighting weekly tests, monthly water temperature testing and cyclical health and safety audits
- Work alone with minimum supervision to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across North Staffs Mind properties
- Responsible for ensuring cleaning materials are available on site
- Undertake relevant and appropriate training as necessary to meet any contractual requirements and for continued professional development
- Work within the policies and procedures of North Staffs Mind
- Respond to and deal appropriately with jobs and issues as they arise
- Contribute to team meetings and participate in line management meetings/staff away days
- May be required to provide some mínimal out of hours cover during extended public holidays such as Christmas
- Carry out other relevant and appropriate duties as requested by the line manager
**The postholder must hold a full UK driving licence, use of own suitable vehicle (van) for business purposes is an advantage.**
**Terms and conditions**
- You will be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses that are authorised in accordance with North Staffs Mind’s procedures
- You will receive 5 weeks paid holiday per year (pro rata), plus your birthday as extra annual leave
