**Head of Data - Analytics & data science**

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of an established and recognized Manchester based FinTech organization. Having had a huge boost in the form of financing from one of the world's most innovative funds, they are looking to create a new advanced analyticsdepartment within their already successful technology function.

The company themselves provide bespoke Software Solutions for various financial institutions and a suite of advanced, AI driven analytics that helps them make smarter decisions. This role will see you taking complete ownership of everything Data. This includestheir BI platform, their Data Engineering processes and their ambitions in Data Science. They are already a data driven business but they need all of their different functions to become homogeneous. You will be auditing their data, weaving analytics throughall of their products, building a team and planning for the future with advanced Data Science techniques. This is primarily a hands off role. Experience of being customer facing is very desirable, preferably in a B2B sense. You should be an experienced leaderand be comfortable taking responsible for a large data function.

**If this sounds like you**:

- Strong data science background, leading data functions within a B2B and/or B2C environment, with a proven track record of delivering successful, data-oriented products and services
- Extensive knowledge of modern, current data practises and technologies (Hadoop, AWS, Python)/architectures
- Demonstrable experience leading and building a team of Data Scientists, Engineers & Analysts
- Fantastic communication skills, interpersonal skills and commercial engagement skills (i.e. engaging with external clients, stakeholders and persons of interest)
- Strong understanding of technical strategy w/ the ability to translate this into clearly defined and achievable goals/metrics

The salary range for this role is between £80,000 - £100,000. They operate a flexible approach to remote working and working hours, it's expected that if needed you can come to Manchester but not necessary every day.
