The post holder will provide leadership to the directorate particularly in relation to Human Resources and Occupational Health. To work directly to the Director of Nursing and Workforce and offer pragmatic, deliverable and safe leadership and advice in relation to a range of people management issues, retention and health and well-being initiatives. To achieve set objectives in relation to current workforce challenges including sickness management, training, retention and health and well-being of our staff.

To support and deputise for the Director of Nursing and Workforce and other Associate Directors as and when appropriate including initiating and leading Trust-wide programmes and activities.

To co-write and lead the delivery of the Trust People Strategy, reviewing and revising in support of the changing needs of the organisation.

Leading and embedding a Business Partner model that provides pragmatic and innovative workforce solutions to the Executive Team and senior managers.

To provide professional and strategic direction to the Trust on all matters related to People and employee relations.

To be a business partner to members of the executive team providing authoritative advice on the whole range of people management issues.

To provide strategic leadership across the directorate with a strong focus on HR and governance working in partnership with staff side/trades unions.

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust provides community-based health services for adults and children in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and some services in surrounding areas too.
