Bishop John Robinson Church of England Primary School is a small, family-friendly inclusive school in Thamesmead, in the east of the Royal Borough of Greenwich and part of the Southwark Diocese. We have approximately 210 pupils on role from nursery to Year 6. The school is warm and welcoming, with very supportive parents and a growing governing body. We have a strong and positive working relationship with local schools, the local authority and diocese. We were graded good by Ofsted in 2018 and outstanding by SIAMS in 2015. We are seeking an energetic and creative staff members to join our school family in September.
- be responsible for the safety and welfare of children during the school lunch-time break.
- supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground areas and school premises and may include ancillary associated duties (e.g., cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean etc.) and ensuring the maintenance of good order and discipline.
- use initiative and common sense and be assertive and consistent in any contact with pupils in order to achieve the level of discipline required to maintain order.
- establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of, and responding appropriately to, individual needs
- promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities indoors and in the playground
- encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate in the hall and the playground
- engage with pupils in games, activities and sports to promote healthy attitudes to exercise and wellbeing
