The Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 75thAnniversary this year and is the 3rd largest Chamber in Scotland after Aberdeen and Glasgow. Accredited by both the British and Scottish Chamber of Commerce; the Ayrshire Chamber is a not-for-profit membership organisation that supports over 800 businesses, in addition to the successful delivery of various projects including the Ayrshire arm of Developing the Young Workforce.

**Position Overview**
This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week based within the Ayrshire Chamber office at Prestwick Airport. £21,000 - £23,000 - dependent on experience, 23 days annual holiday & 12 public holidays, health plan, pension contribution and eligibility for death in service (x3 annual salary). Expectation to attend events outside of normal working hours.

Membership Development Manager

**Responsibilities include**:

- Understanding requirements for each event
- Planning events with attention to financial and time constraints
- Booking venues and schedule speakers
- Research requirements for each event and choose the best combination of quality and cost
- Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations etc.)
- Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
- Evaluate event’s success and submit reports
- Work with the Communications officer regarding promotions, communications and branding aspects of the event
- Resolve problems and guest enquiries before and during the event
- Approving all activities for the event
- Preparing surveys and reports after the event
- Investigate event viability, secure sponsorship when required, manage logistics, co-ordinate post-event operations.

**Requirements and skills**:

- Excellent organisational and coordination skills
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in digital event promotion tools
- Customer service skills
- Understanding of key performance indicators in events management
- Excellent multitasking and task prioritisation skills
- A proven track record of organizing successful events
- Proficient in MS Office & Teams
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Problem-solving ability
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work as part of a team and even lead a team if the need arises
- Possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Relevant experience in a similar role
