**Embedded Software Engineer**

**Walter Everett Is a recruitment agency and we are currently helping our client to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer.**

**The client designs and manufactures energy-efficient, cutting-edge lighting and control product systems for industry and residential customers. They are part of a global specialist in electronic and digital building infrastructure.**

**Overall Job Purpose**:
The Embedded**Engineer** will report to the R&D Manager. As an Embedded Software Engineer you will oversee the development of embedded software in products as well as the development of automatic test procedures to validate products, systems,and software developed. You will be designing and developing cutting-edge lighting technology, using embedded C/C++

**Key Duties**:

- **Product design engineering**:

- Prototyping during feasibility studies
- Implementation of development and test environments
- Development of embedded software in products, embedded C
- Development of automatic test scripts in Python
- Participate in the qualification and pre-series phases
- Technical follow-up of subcontractors
- Design for manufacturing
- Promoting existing products optimization and Redesign to cost
- **Other**:

- Quality control and compliance testing for the electronics design
- Working closely with the mechanical design and quality team
- Any other Ad hoc duties as and when requested

**Job competencies/Key skills**:

- Development of embedded software on microcontroller (C/C++ languages)
- Development of object-oriented languages (Python, C#)
- Knowledge of test automation tools: Robotframework, Jenkins
- Basic analog and digital electronic knowledge
- STM32 Microcontroller family knowledge
- Microchip PIC family knowledge
- Practice TDD (Test Driven Development),
- Practices continuous integration and masters test automation tools
- Open to learning new computer languages
- Loves to learn, curious
- Engaged to the quality of its deliverables
- Diplomacy and excellent communication skills
