**Job description**
**Overall Objective**:
**To assist the Restaurant & Event Manager with the day-to-day operations in the Orangery Restaurant.**
**To set up and assist with the events that take place onsite including weddings, banquets, canape receptions, BBQs, internal conferencing and lots more.**
**To act up and cover the Restaurant & Event Managers days off and holidays in all areas.**
**To take responsibility for the catering operation in line with Company policies, Client requirements and financial constraints. To provide leadership and guidance to all team members to ensure a positive customer experience, under the guidance of the Catering Manager**
Team Management
- To make a continuous assessment of the performance of all staff under your supervision to establish training needs and development potential.
- Ensure that training is carried out in the location to meet identified needs and requirements of the Company training policy.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of their duties and the standards required.
- To ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of their Health and Safety responsibilities and receive the appropriate training.
- Attend training sessions and catering meetings when required.
- To take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the section/s as appropriate
- To motivate and lead by example ensuring you and your team have fun at work and are proud of your efforts.
Customer Service
- To ensure that customers are given prompt and efficient service.
- To be customer focused at all times, by being visible during meal periods, communicating and determining customer requirements before they do.
- To ensure all food is presented and served in line with company minimum standards.
- attend all catering committee meetings when required. - Ensure that your restaurant has a fun feeling that customers enjoy and can relax away from the workplace.
- To ensure that all agreed service objectives are met in line with client expectations.
Financial Management
- To assist in stocktaking
- To make management aware of ant sales opportunities
- To ensure that stocks are used efficiently
Health & Safety Management
- To record and report all accidents within the location adhering to location and company procedures.
- To ensure all equipment is well maintained and in good working order.
- To make recommendations for renewal and replacement of equipment when required.
- To maintain location cleaning schedules.
- Ensure that all company procedures and work instructions are fully understood and practised by all employees.
- Attend all health & safety training courses as required
General Responsibilities
- Attend all location management meetings, patch meetings and company meetings as required. - To take responsibility for contributing towards your development with the guidance of your manager and attend training courses as identified.
- To ensure that all company administration procedures are followed in line with the company manuals.
- To show commitment to company values in all aspects of your role.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the business.
- To ensure that you deliver what you promise to customers, clients and your team.
- Treat others as you would expect to be treated.
- To attend to any reasonable request made by the client or Absolute Taste Management.
**Specific Responsibilities**
- To ensure service personnel are fully aware of their roles
- To communicate with the Manager any issues which have arisen and communicate the outcomes to your team
- To set and monitor service procedures and to ensure through service times the correct merchandising levels are maintained.
- To maintain regular discussions with the manager on the current and future performance of the site
- To assist the Manager inoperating the location within the agreed budget
- communicate with the Manager on an ongoing basis to ensure the quality of food at service times.
- assist the chef manager with the completion of all aspects of the company administration as laid down in the relevant manuals.
- Assist and complete relevant stock sheets
- To build strong client, customer and staff relations
- To ensure all menu items are available at service times
- To assist in carrying out monthly Health and Safety audits
- To assist in producing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on service analysis and discuss the outcomes with the Catering Manager
- To attend peak service hours of the catering operation
- To respond immediately to all customer feedback made during service
**Additional Responsibilities**
- Attend training sessions and catering meetings when required
- Assist in any reasonable request made by management
